I have updated my D&D Next conversion of H2: Thunderspire Labyrinth. This D&D adventure for characters of levels 1–3 was previously produced as a D&D Encounters season adventure. It can be played as a standalone adventure or as the second part of a three-part series. H1 Keep on the Shadowfell I found to be “OK.” It was a straight forward linear adventure that was fine for an introduction into 4E but certainly nothing special. I am not sure if there were magic items before, but there are now. It now runs up to the end of the Horned Hold (map here). Check out this Side Trek that expands on the action from Thunderspire Labyrinth. I liked the Compare the level 11 boss of H2 with Karavakos the level 15 boss of H3 their attack bonuses vs non-AC defenses are the same. Halfway through Thunderspire Labyrinth, I think the shine of 4E wore off and the “flatness” of H2 was shown. For the core Dungeons & Dragons Fourth Edition campaign as described in Fourth Edition Dungeon Master's Guide and continued in H1, Keep on the Shadowfell, H2, Thunderspire Labyrinth, and H3, Pyramid of Shadows.
